Christmas in Southport

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and we all know there’s no place like home for the holidays! Looking for a little holiday cheer this season? Southport, North Carolina is full of events and activities this December to get you in the Christmas spirit!

The Christmas House– Located at 104 W Moore Street, the Christmas House has been family owned and operated for over 24 years! The owner, Ann Endres envisioned a way to bring Christmas cheer to her customers every day, and the Christmas House does just that! The house itself was built in 1885 and exhibits beautiful architecture and charm. Beautifully decorated with wreaths and candy canes, the home is eye catching, and it’s hard not to smile as you approach. Inside, the Christmas House feels just like Santa’s Workshop! Holiday items are for purchase, including puzzles, Christmas ornaments and even old-fashioned candy barrels. A visit to The Christmas House is sure to bring you holiday cheer!

Southport Winterfest– Occurring December 5-11, the town is full of holiday activity! The line up of events include a Candy Cane Garden Party, Pet Pictures with Santa, Supper with Santa’s Elves and Caroling. During the week, Downtown Southport Storefronts decorate for the season in a contest. Vote on your favorite up until December 11, and the winner is announced on the 13th. The Light Up the Night Christmas Parade occurs December 10, where children board Fire Engines at the Southport Fire Station to parade through the town. Southport Winterfest Flotilla– The grand finale for the Winterfest, the Flotilla is an event you won’t want to miss! Bundle up, grab a cup of hot chocolate, and bring your chairs and blankets down to the Waterfront! As boats cruise down the waterfront all lit up and decorated, enjoy the parade of beautiful lights. This event sponsored by Cape Fear Yacht Club and is judged by the Southport Elementary School Art Classes.
