10 minutes from the Beach

The Coastal Side of Life

What’s better than kicking back and knowing you live in Southeastern North Carolina. A place that’s home to some of the best beaches in the nation? How about the fact that there are several incredible locations just minutes away from your front door? Imagine getting up every morning knowing that sugar-white sand and crystal blue waves are yours to enjoy anytime you want. That’s what life will be like living at the Home Place of Southport only 10 minutes from the beach.

Southport has been rated as “One of America’s Happiest Seaside Towns” and it’s easy to see why. The quaint shops, local restaurants, pubs, and quiet Southern charm are enough to make anyone want to stay forever. But there’s more to this experience! It’s a laid-back yet active lifestyle community. The Home Place of Southport will also be the perfect staging ground for getting your toes in the sand.

Here are just a few of the prominent beaches that you could have in your backyard:

Oak Island

Essentially next-door neighbors with the town of Southport, the area of Oak Island is known for its prominent lighthouse. Oak Island beach is perhaps the closest local beach to the Home Place of Southport. There are miles of the strand with over 60 public access points.

Bald Head Island

The jewel of the Cape Fear River region, Bald Head Island has long been a coastal getaway for beach goers in Brunswick County and beyond. Featuring a more exclusive environment that isn’t overcrowded with other people, the beaches here are truly pristine and offer amazing views of maritime oak forests, salt marshes, and of course Old Baldy looming in the distance. If you’re looking for a more secluded getaway, this is a beach that is quite literally a few minutes downriver from the Home Place of Southport.

Caswell Beach

Another beach that’s a little more secluded than most other coastal hotspots, Caswell Beach is prime real estate for pitching your towel and umbrella for the day. A peninsula just outside of Oak Island, Caswell is also a few minutes away from the front doorstep of the Home Place of Southport. Dog-friendly, peaceful, clean, and welcoming, Caswell Beach is in an ideal location surrounded by Southport, Oak Island, and Bald Head Island.

Carolina Beach and Kure Beach

At first glance, these two beaches may seem a bit more out of the way. However, the Southport/Fort Fisher Ferry makes traveling between Brunswick and New Hanover County fun and simple. A simple car ride over to the terminal and a few minutes ferry ride takes you over to two more of the most desirable beaches in the Southeast. Carolina Beach is a fantastic place to spend your lazy summer days. With one of the last historic boardwalks on the East Coast and a whole range of shops and activities, you’re sure to put it on your beach day bucket list. Kure Beach, while smaller, is just as charming, with a well-known fishing pier and plenty of beach for your blanket.

Make Beach Day Every Day

When you live at the Home Place of Southport, every day can be your perfect time to go to the beach. Because with an average travel time of 10 minutes in any direction, your options for year-round fun are endless. “Paradise” evolves beyond being a dream and becomes a reality.
