Flowers are blooming, days are longer, and the weather is warmer! Spring is right around the corner and brings exciting area activities along with it!

1st Annual Celtic Music Festival

Brought to you by the Brunswick Arts Council, enjoy a day of all things Celtic at Franklin Square Park in Southport. This event will feature dancing, storytelling, Highland Games, children’s’ crafts, and live music! The event is scheduled for March 19th from 11 am – 5 pm and is free to attend.

Spring Fling Craft Market and Music Festival

The best way to celebrate Spring in Oak Island, the Spring Fling Craft Market and Music Festival is happening March 26th at Middleton Park. From 11 am – 4 pm, enjoy a craft artisan market and farmer’s market with a large offering of vendors. From 6 – 8 pm, rock to the sounds on the Fossil Rockers live in concert. This event is free to attend.

Ride the Tide Community Float

Spend a day out on the water at the Ride the Tide Community Float. Sponsored by the Oak Island Recreation Department and Adventure Kayak Company, this annual event is scheduled for April 2 beginning at 11 am. The Davis Canal is scenic with calm waters. Appreciate the coastal beauty, local wildlife, and spend time with the community during this 5.2-mile float. Get ready to paddle starting from the Blue Water Pointe Marina kayak launch! This event is $25 per person and attendees must be 13 or older.

Drive By Bunny, Annual Oak Island Easter Egg Hunt and Doggie EGG-Stravaganza

Enjoy Easter activities the entire week! On April 5-7, look forward to “Drive by Bunny”. The Easter Bunny and friends will be parading through the town. Sign up your neighborhood or house to have the Easter bunny make a special stop!

Next, hosted at Bill Smith Park in Oak Island on April 9th, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt returns at 10 am with a colorful assortment of eggs hidden this year. This event is free, and available to children ages 3-10 years old.

The 5th Annual Doggie EGG-Stravaganza follows at 11 am at Salty Dog Park within Bill Smith Park. Both the large dog park and small dog park will be stocked with hidden eggs filled with delicious treats and special prizes for your furry friends to enjoy!

Southport Spring Festival

The Southport Spring Festival is hosted at Franklin Square Park and provides fun for the whole family! Over 160 vendors are featured, and dozens of entertainers will be present. Expect a large selection of local food vendors, kid’s activities and a plant and flower sale. What better way to kick off this beautiful season?

The Southport Spring Festival is hosted April 15 from 10 am – 5 pm and April 16 from 10 am – 4 pm. This event is hugely popular, anticipating over 14,000 residents and visitors to attend. The event is hosted by the City of Southport and the Kiwanis Club.

Inaugural Seafood Festival and Car Show

Offering something for everyone, the Southport Inaugural Seafood Festival and Car Show is happening May 7th from 9 am – 2 pm at Middleton Park in Oak Island. Enjoy a beautiful spring day complete with a car show, Live Music, Artisan Market, and an amazing offering of local seafood.
